Justin Gaffrey’s creative journey has always defied convention. Before gaining recognition as a visual artist, he spent years as a chef and small restaurant owner in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Over time, his restless creative energy found its voice in painting — blending sculpture, engineering, and invention to develop his own tools and signature mediums. His distinctive sculptural style first captured the essence of the coastal South — wild landscapes, native wildlife, and the emotional undercurrents of human experience — earning a loyal audience for work that is as textured in feeling as it is in form.

In recent years, Justin’s vision has expanded — both literally and creatively — into new terrains and larger formats. Inspired by the jagged peaks and mythic tones of the American West, his more recent works channel a bolder sense of scale, place, and story. These evolving pieces are resonating with both collectors and brands seeking something that stands apart.

Artist Statement

Fine art is an obsessive balance shared between technique and the materials used in a
final composition. My artistic observations have instructed me to create meaningful
objects defined by layers of texture, distinctive color juxtapositions, and self-taught experimentations with mind-changing outcomes. My “free association” consists of self-
made heavy texture paints and dimensional subjects, often defying existing gravitational conventions found in tube paint. “Sculptural painting” is my art form, my beloved
community, and my family practice.
