Description:

Justin Gaffrey Gallery is seeking a full-time sales associate. As a gallery sales associate, you will be responsible for handling daily operations and in-person sales at our 30A Gallery. You will also help manage the marketing and growth of local, national, and international business. You will work directly with the artist and the gallery director on a variety of short and long-term projects.

Your primary responsibility will be increasing sales and cultivating client, collaboration, and business relationships. However, flexibility and adaptability is a must in this position, as the needs of the gallery can and do change quickly. We are a small team that is obsessed with innovation. You will learn and grow many new skills in this position, and your strengths and interests can help determine the direction of that growth.

Qualities:

  • Articulate and social with clients and team, luxury sales experience a plus but not necessary
  • Flexible and adaptable, enthusiastic about learning new things
  • Proactive and innovative mindset, contributing new ideas and projects to the team
  • Passionate and curious about the arts
  • Excellent communication skills and organization- must be able to manage a large database of communications both internally and externally, across platforms
  • Technologically proficient, ability to manage use of a variety of technologies and programs
  • Highly organized, able to self-manage diverse projects in a timely manner
  • Capable of light to medium physical labor

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure the successful running of the gallery 40 hours a week, must be available some or all Saturdays 
  • Sell a large volume of artwork; managing client relationships before, during, and after their time in the gallery
  • Set and achieve sales goals, independently and as a team
  • Manage long and short term relationships with businesses, press, collaborations, collectors, etc.
  • Market & promote special projects and events, proactively networking to grow new business 
  • Help set up & hold gallery events and exhibitions, local and remote 
  • A variety of weekly/monthly projects assigned by the artist and director- examples range from social media, to photography, graphic design, vip client projects, etc. 

 

Base salary plus commission: 40k-100k^

+Individual & team-based incentives
